Author(s): Squires, Claire
Abstract: The second CAMEo Cuts examines questions around diversity within the UK’s publishing industry. With a specific focus on BAME (Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic) participation as publishers, authors, readers, or featuring within books, Claire Squires comments on how UK publishing presents a ‘diversity deficit’. This diversity deficit, despite a raft of diversity initiatives, suggests systemic and institutionalised practices of implicit and explicit discrimination within the literary economy.</summary>

Author(s): Wischenbart, Rudiger; Genova, Yana; Inkei, Peter; Kovac, Miha; Squires, Claire; Torner, Carles
Abstract: First paragraph: The aim of this study is to assess the feasibility of successfully creating a European award for literary translation and, in this perspective, to develop a set of models and variants for its possible implementation. The study presents as well potential benefits and constraints by defining the modalities to organise such a prize in accordance to the European Commission's call no. EAC/35/2009 and the steps as proposed in the respective tender and inceptive report presented to the European Commission by R&amp;uuml;diger Wischenbart Content and Consulting.</summary>
